Invictus Project Vérene Fay
Jazz day Vérène Fay quintet
Jazz Festival with the Winds Vérène Fay Quintet

After developing her career with the vocal jazz group Doodlin' for 15 years, singer Vérène Fay is embarking on a new project of original compositions. Inspired by "Invictus", a poem by William Ernest Henley that helped Nelson Mandela endure his imprisonment.
She has composed a repertoire of songs based on ancient poems: Annabelle Lee by Edgar Allan Poe, When You Are Old by Willian Bulter Yeat, Cradle Song by William Blake… This series of compositions with varied colors is arranged by the musicians who accompany her on this project. The song setting of these poems brings an authentic originality to the entire repertoire. New and inspired, this concert is a poetic and sensitive stroll, a mixture of Modern Jazz, Swing and World Jazz. On the occasion of Jazz Day, this quintet from Avignon will present you a preview of this repertoire taken from their album "Invictus" which will be released on May 29, 2019.
